Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Bhaskor Banerjee in 'Piku', written by Juhi Chaturvedi and directed by Shoojit Sircar. Bhaskor is an uber-cool father who supports women's independence, and scorns when they sacrifice their all for the happiness or pride of their husband. Piku's independence is also a sign of Bhaskor's parenting style.

Kamal Haasan in 'Chachi 420'

Divorced from his wife and separated from his daughter, Jaiprakash Paswan disguises into a nanny, called by everyone as ‘Chachi,’ in order to spend more time with his daughter. He is a super fun, loving and devoted father who takes care of every small need of her daughter happily.

In this hit film based on real-life characters and their story, Aamir Khan stars as Mahavir Singh Phogat, who coached his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become world class wrestlers. Irrfan plays the role of Raj Batra in 'Hindi Medium', a super-dedicated father who goes to lengths to get her little one’s admission in a good school. Along with being a loving and caring father, Raj is also a loving and caring husband, a quality and balance essential for a happy family.

​Kumud Mishra in 'Thappad'​

'Thappad', a film which centered around domestic violence against women, was directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film saw actor Taapsee Pannu in the lead role -- Amrita --whose entire life changed when her husband slapped her in a fit of anger related to work stress. In the film, Kumud Mishra played the role of Sachin Sandhu, Amrita's father and showed how a supportive father acts in situations when the whole world is against your child.


Explaining the importance of the character, Taapsee wrote on Twitter, " “Being daddy’s girl is what made things easy/difficult fr Amrita.The fact she thought her partner will be someone like her father got her expectations soar high but when they crashed,he was there to hold her from falling.Witness this beautiful father daughter relationship #Thappad.”
