Getting ready for the first day at school

Parenting preschoolers can be a whirlwind adventure full of surprises, especially when it comes to tantrums, potty training difficulties, and other perplexing situations. If you're nodding your head, fret not! Let us dive straight into these toddler problems before they begin their journey of academics.

2/6

The tantrums

Picture this: your little one goes from happy camper to meltdown mode in seconds. Preschoolers use tantrums as a coping mechanism for strong emotions. Here's the trick: Remain composed. Think of yourself as the storm's calm center. At times, simply existing is sufficient. While ensuring that your young child feels heard, teach them how to manage their emotions. Your kid is not being a brat; they are just not sure what they are feeling.

Mastering the art of potty training

Training a child to use the toilet is similar to a small space mission, but there is no rocket science involved. Make sure you are equipped with a potty chair, plenty of wipes, and a sense of humor. Patience is your wingman as you prep them to do it all on their own in school. Accidents do occur; they are a natural part of potty training. Use incentives like stickers or a small dance party to celebrate potty accomplishments.

4/6

Bedtime battles

Bedtime battles? The nightly challenge for every parent. Establish a bedtime routine that includes activities like reading or taking a bath so that they’re already in the school going drill.. Before going to bed, avoid sugar, and create a comfortable, dark sleeping environment. Maintain the routine. It will eventually work like magic and you’ll need to worry less about fixing a schedule as per their school.

5/6

Nourishing the picky eater

Vijay Kumar Agarwal, Founder, Makoons says, It is often difficult to get the children to eat anything other than nuggets and noodles. Serve food on colorful plates to add some fun. Try serving them food in a lunch box that they’ll carry to school. This will make them familiar with the drill and eat food without much assistance. Try to eat a variety of foods yourself to serve as an example. A small dessert for broccoli bravery can also come in handy on occasion.
6/6

The never-ending "Why?" phase

Children in preschool are like little sleuths with a million "whys." Try to provide straightforward answers to their questions rather than just saying "because I said so." Encourage your children's curiosity, and when you do not have the answer, go exploring with them.

Being a preschool parent is ultimately a journey. Despite the challenges you face, you are not alone, and you are doing fantastically. Cheers to the rollercoaster of parenthood – hold tight and enjoy the ride!
