Beautiful parenting journey of Rachel and Ross

‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ or ‘Friends’ is an iconic television series that ended in the year 2004. However, thanks to the evergreen content encompassing all kinds of relationships and emotions, the sitcom continues to be one of the most favorite shows across the globe. One beautiful relationship in the show is that of Ross and Rachel, who became parents while being friends. Here are six valuable lessons we can learn from Ross and Rachel.

2/7

Excellent co-parenting amidst personal challenges

Ross and Rachel navigated the complexities of co-parenting with maturity and respect. Despite their romantic ups and downs, they prioritized their daughter Emma's well-being. Their commitment to being present parents and making joint decisions underscored the importance of putting their child first, even when they were not a typical married couple.

3/7

Balancing career and parenthood

Both Ross and Rachel had career aspirations while raising Emma. They depicted the struggle many parents encounter in balancing work and family life. What helped them was supporting each other. For example, Rachel had to cut her maternity leave short when facing competition at work. Ross did not complain or make a scene, and understood Rachel’s need to go to work early.

4/7

Seeking support from friends and family

Throughout the series, Ross and Rachel leaned on their close-knit group of friends for support in their parenting journey. They demonstrated the significance of having a strong support system and how friends can step in as surrogate family, providing emotional support and practical help when needed.

5/7

Helping each other grow as parents

While Rachel was pregnant, she struggled to get a hang of parenting stuff. However, Ross coached her and she learned a lot of relevant information, which was seen in a raid fire test Ross designed for her, that she ended up acing.

6/7

Enjoying the parenting journey

One of the most fun episodes is when Ross and Rachel try to make Emma laugh, and it turns out she only does it when she hears the song ‘Baby Got Back’ by Sir Mix-a-Lot. All in all, the duo enjoy parenting together and raising their baby girl.

7/7

Celebrating little wins

It is worth watching Rachel’s reaction when she says Emma’s first word is ‘Gleba’. While Ross believes it is not a word, he is a super proud father when he finds the word has connection with Science and Nature. Such adorable instances show how invested both of them are for their baby. A similar example is Emma’s first birthday, when Rachel wanted everything to be perfect, and Ross comforted her when things went South.
