Christmas is the perfect time to let kids slow down, pick up their crayons, and enjoy some creative fun

Drawing Christmas bells is a simple, cheerful activity that doesn’t need fancy supplies or drawing skills. With just a pencil and a few colours, children can create festive bells that look cute, funny, or sparkly, each one unique. Whether it’s for school art time, holiday homework, or a cosy afternoon at home, bell drawings help kids express imagination while getting into the Christmas spirit. The best part? There’s no right or wrong, just joyful doodling and lots of holiday cheer.

2/5

The basic Christmas bell (perfect for beginners)

Start with the easiest bell shape. Draw a big upside-down “U”. Close the bottom with a soft curved line. Add a tiny circle inside at the bottom, that’s the bell clapper. On top, draw a small rectangle or oval to show where the bell is hanging.

3/5

Bell with a bow (cute & festive)

Once kids are comfortable, add a bow on top of the bell. Draw two loops like butterfly wings and two ribbon tails. Suddenly, the bell looks extra Christmassy!
You can suggest colouring ideas like:
Red bow + golden bell
Green bow + silver bell
This version is great for Christmas cards, notebooks, and school art projects.

4/5

Smiling bell (kids love faces!)

Turn the bell into a character! Inside the bell, draw two small dots for eyes and a curved smile. You can even add rosy cheeks or eyelashes.
This idea works really well for younger kids because, faces make drawings feel friendly and there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to draw expressions.
Let kids decide if their bell looks happy, sleepy, or excited for Santa

5/5

Jingle bells pair (for older kids)

Draw two bells slightly tilted, touching each other. Add a ribbon tying them together at the top. This helps kids practise balance and spacing while still keeping things simple.
These look lovely when shaded lightly or outlined with a black sketch pen.
