Dos and don'ts of keeping plants at home for positive energy as explained by an expert
We all are facing the worsening weather condition nowadays with pollution at dangerous levels. To counter this we all either move towards a greener area like hills & forests or make a green zone in our homes. But are all plants equally beneficial? As per both Hindu and Chinese beliefs, plants too have spiritual connect and energy fields which interacts with the energy fields of humans and gives positive and negative results. According to Anu Sachdeva, well known Vastu expert, there are few things one should keep in mind while keeping plants at home. She elaborately mentions the dos and don'ts associated with home plants.

- Cactus or similar thorny plants are not good inside the house. Their thorns give poison arrows in all direction increasing friction & pain in our personal lives. If you already have them, place them outside your main door so that they prevent any negativity to enter through the main door. But while shopping for new plants, these plants are a taboo.
- Bonsai plant, may look pretty to few, these plants give a stunted growth to inmates. They should be avoided completely as your career or profession may get stuck leading to poverty.
- The fluffy cotton producing plants are not suitable for homes as they bring sorrow, sadness & funeral rights. This will increase negativity at home & bring restlessness.
- Milk producing plants like Euphorbia are like bleeding plants. They are unsafe for Children & pets as they carry certain toxins. They bring stress , poverty & ill health. So it’s best to avoid & not keep them in your garden.

- Tulsi is one of the best plants to be kept in our garden. It brings good health , spirituality & harmony in our life. This plant also has medicinal quality & is a must in every household.
- A bunch of 9 stems of Bamboo plant tied with a red ribbon is a feng-shui cure for wealth & growth in our life. This plant is known for its resilience in adversity & is highly recommended.
- Money plant as the name suggests brings prosperity & financial growth. The only condition is that it should be healthy with lush green leaves and kept on a stand so that its beautiful leaves spread out beautifully.
- Jade plant with its thick coin like leaves is also known as a Prosperity plant. It brings success & good fortune. This is another plant which is very auspicious.
- Peace lily is an air purifier & brings peace , harmony & hope to the inmates. As its name suggests it’s very beautiful & peaceful in appearance & is a welcome addition to our homes.
- Lavender is another soothing & very positive vibrational plant. It has medicinal properties & its purple colour symbolises wealth. It brings peace & tranquility to its surroundings.
- Aloe Vera is a medicinal plant bringing positive vibes & good luck. This plant wards off negative energy & is a good addition in your house garden.
