Here’s why Priyanka Chopra deserves credit for her Met Gala hoodie

The headgear was the actress’ idea
It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Priyanka Chopra dazzled on the red carpet of the 72nd annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, which is commonly known as the Met Gala, in New York City on Monday evening.

The outfit worn by the actress — an ornate hoodie with a burgundy off-shoulder gown — was much talked about and appreciated for being true to the theme of this year’s gala, which was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

While her entire look was appreciated, it was PeeCee’s headgear — crafted with precious jewels like rubies and sapphires — that stood out. The elaborate piece, it seems, took over 250 hours of painstaking work.

Now, a daily has reported that the hood was actually made at Priyanka’s behest. The publication quoted a source as saying that the actress wanted her look to have an Indian element. So, she decided to get a hoodie made by craftsmen back home in India. Seems, Priyanka had decided on her look 25 days prior to the event.

However, it’s not that PeeCee’s sartorial taste is never criticised. Recently, she was trolled for wearing a blazer with cut-outs around her chest for an appearance on the TV show, ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’.
