Four rules of success
So many people have asked me that why is it so difficult to be successful. And I have always replied being successful is as easy or as difficult as you make it out to be. See success is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Success is not about one victory and a string of setbacks. Success is not about climbing a mountain and looking down from the top; it is about each and every step you take to climb every mountain that you face in your life. If you want to have an attitude of constant success in your life then these four rules will help you conquer every summit:
First, do everything in moderation; including moderation itself. See to be successful it is imperative that you have balance. If you want to be successful you need to have balanced view-points, balanced actions and balanced attitude. If you are too careful you will not make the bold moves you need to make to be successful. If you are too risky you will not know when to pause and reflect. So here too balance becomes key: you need to balance risk with care. Be moderately risky and be moderately careful. Success demand that you do everything in moderation; including moderation itself. Because if you always think about moderation then sometimes the right time for the right action passes you by.
Next, believe in your possibilities not your limitations. See you will find hundred people to tell you what you cannot do. Don’t become one of them. Let your own voice be one of courage and encouragement. This does not mean that you blindly think that you say and do is right. What this means that if you are in a bad place or things have just not been working out for you; then don’t give up. Don’t tell yourself that you are worthless or not good enough. That is the time when you have to learn to be there for yourself most. Remember there will 99 challenges in life but make sure you and your attitude are never one of them. So always believe in your possibilities and not your limitations.
Third, know that failure in inevitable but temporary. Many of us are taught in school that we will either succeed in life or fail in life. We are taught that failure is the opposite of success. Nothing is farther from the truth because failure is not the opposite of success; it is a part of success. Yes, that’s right in life to be successful you have to learn to accept failure. You have to be a failed businessman to become a successful businessman. Because failure will teach you where you went wrong. You have to make mistakes in your relationship to learn how to do it correctly.
Finally, appreciate more than you criticise. Success is about making things work for you even when it looks like they are not working for you. It is about maximising what works and minimising what doesn’t work. When you train your mind this way, when you appreciate more than you criticise; it shows you how much more you can do, how much more you can achieve in life. When you appreciate what you have in life; life will always give you more to appreciate. So stop looking for what is wrong and start celebrating what is right. Make this is a habit and you will begin your success journey from this very moment.
Work with these four rules of success in every area of your life and you will see yourself living the life of your dreams within no time.
