The YouTuber claims to have lost 68 pounds or close to 31 kilos in 2 years!

YouTuber Danny Aarons' weight loss journey began on August 7, 2020 when he weighed 238 pounds. From the pictures, which he has shared on social media, a massive change and a drastic transformation is clearly visible.

The YouTuber claims to have lost 68 pounds or close to 31 kilos in 2 years! The most shocking part of his weight loss journey is that he never hit the gym once.

"Haven’t gone to the gym once, just daily walks and being in a calorie deficit," he writes on microblogging platform, Twitter.

Danny's tweet has garnered more than 44,000 likes and retweets so far.

On a comment by another Twitter user that he would have lost the kilos much faster had he hit the gym, Danny replies, "Would've also given up half way as I don't like the gym, people lose weight in different ways mate."

Pushing towards weight loss techniques is a false move

Danny's journey is an explanation to those who blindly follow workout routines of others. There are several such instances where people have not achieved the desired result simply by following a routine which their favorite celebrity follows.

What people need to understand is that weight loss is very specific to each individual. No two individuals can have the same weight loss process because the way one accumulates the fat is different from another person. Likewise, the way one loses fat is much different from another.

The lifestyle habit, nature of work, age, sex, and health complications decide the way a person can lose weight.

Walking as a weight loss technique

In weight loss, walking gives the same meaning as "Slow and steady wins the race".

A low impact exercise, walking, keeps your body active, is cost friendly, needs no expertise, needs no equipment, and can be done by anyone. There are no hardcore rules to walking which means one can walk as per their own convenience.

Apart from weight loss, walking has several other health benefits too. A meta-analysis published in the journal Sports Medicine has compared the effect of sitting and standing/ walking on the heart health, insulin and blood sugar level. "Light-intensity walking showed a greater attenuation of glucose and insulin compared to standing interruptions and prolonged sitting," the study says.

How to walk properly?

While walking gives loads of benefits to the person, the right kind of posture matters the most.

Here are few important things one needs to know during walking:

Keep your head up

Keep your back straight, do not bend or loosen your body

Keep your shoulders straight

Swing your arms gently, but not too fast

The right way to walk is from heel to toe
