This man went from 100kg to 80kgs in just 3 months!

34-years-old Lokesh Yadav was extremely troubled with his weight. At 100kgs, he could not fit into his clothes, was unable to wear his favourite outfits and slowly lost all his confidence. That’s when he decided to lose weight, made changes to his diet, increased his physical activity and finally lost a whopping 20 kilos. Here’s a look at his weight loss journey:

Name: Lokesh Yadav

Occupation: Business

Age: 34yrs

Height: 182 cms

City: New Delhi

Highest weight recorded: 100 kg

Weight lost: 20 kg

Duration it took me to lose weight: 3 months

The turning point

Being overweight was never easy. I was low on self-esteem, lacked the motivation to dress up since none of my favourite clothes fit me, nor could I find anything right for my body. Over time, I became extremely determined to lose all that extra kilos and with hard work, achieved it in a short span of time.

3/7

Diet followed

My breakfast: My day starts with a glass of warm water with half lemon squeezed.

Breakfast:- High fibre and protein-rich breakfast which includes oats, boiled egg sandwich, muesli nuts, omelette and handful of nuts.

My lunch: Multigrain roti or wheat roti without ghee with less oil sabji with low fat curd.

My dinner: Chicken soup/boiled chicken/chicken salad/paneer sandwich

Pre-workout meal: Green tea/Black coffee

Post- workout meal: Fruit smoothie (Apple/papaya or any fruit)

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): You can have a cheat meal of your choice when you feel or crave it once a week or after 10 days. I treat myself with a pizza or chola bature.

4/7

Workout regime

I did not indulge in heavy, intense workout. I just stuck to jogging and engaged in brisk walking, which gradually improved my stamina and intensity. I walked minimum of 10,000 steps daily.

5/7

Fitness secrets I unveiled

I never lost hope and over time realized that believing in yourself and your goals is what matters the most.

How do I stay motivated?:- My passion towards my weight loss goal kept me motivated. Everyday is a learning day for me and everyday I learn something new.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus:- You are your biggest teacher. Your dedication and commitment to yourself will make you focus on your goals and when you see changes in your body, it gives you the confidence to focus better.

6/7

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

When I was overweight, I started losing confidence in myself. My fav outfits did not fit me anymore and that was extremely disappointing.

What was the lowest point for you?: The lowest point for me was when I could not wear my favorite outfit due to non-availability of size.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: I hope to see myself maintaining a healthy fitness routine and balanced weight, to inspire more and more people to follow a healthy lifestyle.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

Weight loss doesn’t happen overnight, it starts by changing your eating habits and changing your mindset. Just do away with the junk food from your list and you will see a junk free body in a short span of time .

Lessons learnt from weight loss: The biggest lesson I learnt from my journey is to never get distracted from your goals. You should not get disappointed when your weighing scales do not show any changes. Sometimes your body doesn't lose weight, but at that time your system is busy cleansing your body, removing toxins and impurities. This helps improve your metabolism.
