Jyoti Agarwal belongs to the entertainment industry, which is why she believes staying fit is of top priority. Being overweight took a toll on her confidence and also affected her physical and mental health. It is then that she decided to take on her weight loss journey. From eating right to taking her workouts seriously, in a matter of 4 months, she lost a whopping 18 kgs. Here’s how she achieved her goals…

The turning point

I was casted in a song for a serial, which was a dance show and I didnt like the way I looked among the rest. That's when I realised, I needed to work on myself and look more presentable.

Diet followed

My breakfast: Tea and a fruit (any)

My lunch: I normally have a heavy lunch (pulses, rice or roti, any sabzi)

My dinner: Soups, salads, grilled chicken

Pre-workout meal: One glass of juice or black coffee

Post- workout meal: I do consume protein (zero carbs, do check with your trainers or nutritionist what would suit your body) egg whites.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): I am a sugar lover so it has to be desserts.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Greek salads

I indulged in weight training, yoga and dancing.

Fitness secrets I unveiled: There can't be any secrets to fitness. It’s a lifestyle that I believe one should add to their timetable.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: It is all about having the right kind of circle. My family and friends are very encouraging and supportive, which helped me a lot.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

The most difficult part of being overweight was losing confidence and suffering from different health issues which lead to stress and depression.

What was the lowest point for you?: Definitely lockdown

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I started cooking my own meals to ensure I am eating healthy. I organised my day to day tasks in a timely manner and I tried to start my day earlier so I have more time for myself post work.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: So the journey isn't a jolly ride. It's difficult and I still follow my routine, but the results will make you happy and how people look at you will also keep you going.. The vibe is very positive!
