Name: - Praveen Kumar

Occupation:- Equity Analyst

Age: 27

Height: 5 feet 6 inches

City: Ghaziabad

Highest weight recorded: 90 kg

Weight lost:- 15 kg

Duration it took me to lose weight: 7 months

2/7

The turning point

It all started when I began experiencing health issues. I was diagnosed with hypertension, suffered from anxiety and developed a stomach infection. That’s when I decided to make some changes in my lifestyle. However, the COVID-19 pandemic became a huge roadblock and I had to put a stop to my training.

I was infected with the virus and took about 2 months to recover properly, which is when I again gained a lot of weight. This is when I enrolled myself in a gym, followed a specific diet plan and worked out regularly.

3/7

Diet followed

My breakfast- 1 atta bread slice with peanut butter and 1 banana along with 1 cup of black coffee

My lunch:- 30 gms rice , 100 gms chicken breast baked , and 200 gms salad with 100 gms low fat curd.

My dinner: 10 soaked almond , 100 gms paneer and vegetable salad

Pre-workout meal:- 1 slice bread and peanut butter and 3 egg white

Post- workout meal: 6 boiled white egg and 35 gms protein

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Dark chocolate and jaggery with fennel seeds and boiled chole.

4/7

Workout regime

I indulged in an hour each of cardio and heavy weight training followed by another 30 minutes of cardio.

5/7

Fitness secrets I unveiled

When it comes to weight loss, it is not just about how hard you work physically, but how determined you are mentally.

How do I stay motivated?: I buy small sized clothes and work towards fitting into them all. Believe in yourself and eventually your hard work will pay off.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: My trainer pushed my boundaries in my training and helped me identify my inner strength

6/7

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

While I struggled with my excess weight, I wasn’t satisfied with the way I looked and how my overall personality did not give out a good impression.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: Lean and thin with strength.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I started eating healthy and nutritious food. I discovered that apart from home cooked meals, there are a lot of alternatives available in the market.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: - It is not an easy task, and the only formula which works is calorie deficit. Nothing more nothing less.
