This young woman’s weight loss journey is an inspiration to all!

Amrita Biswas is a young, self-independent woman, who was bullied and body shamed for being overweight. People passed rude remarks and tried their best to put her down. Not only did it impact her self esteem, but it almost broke her down. However, she rose above it all and made up her mind to challenge all odds. She tweaked her diet, worked out, indulged in strength training and achieved her desired goals. Here’s a look at her inspirational journey:

Age: 23

Height: 5'4

Highest weight recorded: 98Kgs

Weight lost: 38Kgs

2/7

The turning point

To be honest, I am grateful to all those comments people passed on me that motivated me to work on myself. While I might have cried, ran low on confidence, but despite everything, I stood up and worked vigorously to achieve my desired body.

3/7

Diet followed

My breakfast: 1 cup green tea/black coffee (before gym), 2 Idlis, boiled vegetables, 2 egg whites (preferable time: 8am - 9am)

My lunch: Boiled vegetables, fruits, 1 cup green tea/black coffee

My dinner: Boiled vegetables, 2 chapatis, 1 cup dal.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Grilled chicken, a cheesecake would not harm though.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Chicken, chocolates.

4/7

Workout regime

I indulged in intense cardio workouts and lifted weights to strengthen and build muscles.

5/7

Fitness secrets I unveiled

Never, never, never skip your cardio routines.

How do I stay motivated?: I stay motivated by looking at my old pictures. Considering the challenges I faced during my overweight days, I do not want to revisit that phase again.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: My strong will and determination help me stay focused and push me to become better everyday.

6/7

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

There was nothing worse than being body shamed and ridiculed for the way I looked. It was the most heartbreaking moment of my life. However, it is important to keep your spirits high, to never give up and never let anyone tell you that you are less.

What was the lowest point for you?: Working out, but still putting on weight.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?: I want to become the best version of myself.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I gave up junk food. Strict NO to oily foods, unhealthy drinks and high-carb food items.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: If you want something, Go get it. Period.
