The turning point

The turning point was when I realised I am not active enough for my age. I was not overweight from childhood but due to academic pressure and stress, I gained weight. So to regain my health and strength I decided to make healthier choices to achieve my desired weight.

3/7

Diet followed

My breakfast: Sprouts, besan ka cheela, badam and any non-oily healthy thing you wanna eat.

My lunch: Dal roti, salad and curd

My dinner: Daliya, khichdi, lightest of all meals in a day.

Pre-workout meal: Only water

Post- workout meal: Water, fruits (citrus fruits)

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Cheat days are when my mother cooks anything special. Since she is a great chef, everything she makes is my favourite - chole bhature, aloo paratha.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Daliya, sprouts, boiled vegetables

4/7

Workout regime

I indulge in fast walking for over 5 km everyday. I also do morning yoga and my favorite hobby is dancing.

5/7

Fitness secrets I unveiled

Citrus foods helped me lose a lot of weight. Plus, ragi flour is good for health and for weight loss.

How do I stay motivated?: By looking at my success till date and noting down the changes in me.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?: My parents helped me a lot to maintain my focus. Their guidance and assurance was the key for it.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

You are prone to diseases and you lose your strength. Once you get obese, you sometimes even lose confidence and enthusiasm. Although what people say never affected me, they always formed an opinion and passed judgements. However, what matters is how you look at yourself in the mirror. I was disappointed due to my lack of fitness and energy.

7/7

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I started maintaining a healthy and enthusiastic lifestyle with fitness and energy. I also tried to be happier in life, and stayed focussed on myself.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: You should always try to make yourself better for your own good. You should do things that make you feel more confident. Trust me, it feels so good to do something for your own self and not to show anyone or prove anything.
