Soups are the saviours for those who try to lose weight. These smooth and liquid delights are extremely easy on the stomach and are loaded with nutrients. Health experts also advise people to include soup in their diet, especially dinner as it recommended that dinner should be the lightest meal for a person.

Chicken is one of the richest sources of protein. It is a lean meat. This makes it an ideal option for dinner and it is less fattening and can keep one full for a long time.

So here are 5 amazing chicken soups that you can include in dinner this winter:

​Chicken and spinach soup​


This dense green soup has lots of nutrients and that goes without saying. Preparing chicken and spinach soup is pretty easy.

Boil spinach leaves

Let it cool down and then puree it

To a pan add butter and saute garlic in it

Add refined flour to form the base of the soup

Add chicken stock and shredded chicken breast to this and let it cook for 3-4 minutes

Add salt, black pepper, garam masala and mix it well

Add the spinach puree to this

Add lemon juice

Serve it hot

​Chicken and corn soup​


Everyone loves having a hot bowl of delicious chicken bits and sweet corn. The crunch of corn and the taste of chicken makes it ideal for dinners.

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil

Add corns and cook everything for 3-4 minutes

Add salt and pepper, cook it properly

Let this mixture cool down

Puree it completely

Heat this puree and add cream and butter

Add slices of grilled chicken

Garnish it with spring onions

Serve hot

​Chicken vegetable soup​


This can be a wholesome meal as well, if you add lots of vegetables to it. Kids will like it and you can give them without thinking as it is rich in plant and animal nutrients.

Boil the chicken and cut it into pieces

Dice your favorite vegetables

Boil them for few minutes; turn off the stove before they get soft

Save the boiled vegetable water

In a pan add butter and saute garlic

Add salt and black pepper

Add little bit of refined flour to prepare the base of the soup

Add the water of the boiled vegetables to this

Cook it properly

Add the chicken pieces

Garnish it coriander leaves or herbs of your choice

​Basic chicken soup​


For a basic chicken soup you need chicken, garlic, 1 vegetable of your choice, and onion.

It is very simple to prepare and can be a warm supper.

Boil chicken in water and salt

Add onion and garlic to this

Cook this for minimum 30 minutes

Remove the chicken and cut it into pieces once it cools down

Add the vegetable to the chicken stock

Cook till the vegetable is soft and tender

Add the chicken pieces to this

Garnish it with coriander

​Tibetan chicken broth​


This is super easy to prepare and has lots of ingredients from vegetables to spices.

Boil the chicken

Saute onions, ginger, garlic, celery, carrots, radish and bok choy

Add boiled chicken to this and mix well

Add salt, pepper, cinnamon, fennel seeds, cloves, green chilies and coriander leaves.

Add water and bring it to boil

Add soy sauce, malt vinegar, lime juice and sugar

Take out the chicken from this and chop it into pieces

Add them back to the soup

You can add coriander leaves

Serve it hot
