Inspiring weight loss transformation

The weight loss story from a man in Mississippi, US, has gone viral for his incredible transformation involving a drop of 165 kg!

Nicholas Craft, 42, weighed 294 kg in June 2019 and now he weighs around 130 kg. Craft’s transformation pictures have gone viral on Facebook and netizens are in awe and appreciation of his determination to get fitter and healthier.

Struggling since childhood

Weighing around 136 kg in high school, Craft has been dealing with his weight since childhood, he told Fox News Digital.

His depression led him to overeating, which made him withdraw from society and develop a sedentary lifestyle.

"My weight stopped me from going to family events and traveling," he recalled. "I couldn’t get into regular vehicles. It was hard for me to get around. I had knee pain, body aches and shortness of breath."

Turning point

In 2019, a doctor reportedly told Craft that his weight was "a ticking time bomb.” Triggered by this comment, Craft’s will to live longer made him change his lifestyle habits and embark on his weight loss journey.

Dietary changes and movement

Craft changed the way he ate and approached food. He stated tracking and monitoring his calorie intake. Further, he quit all junk food. His diet no longer included sodas, fried foods, bread, pasta, rice and other carbs. He shifted to eating plenty of fruits, vegetables and protein.

His exercise routine involves moving around throughout the day and doing strength training with dumbbells.

No weight loss drugs or surgery

Craft shared that he didn't use any weight loss medicines, enhancement supplements or surgical means to lose weight.

"You have to make lifestyle changes, like eating healthier, instead of shortcuts," Craft said. “Stay active, even if it’s just a little bit, so long as you’re moving."

Positive health changes

After losing so much weight, Craft shared that he now experiences less physical pain, his breathing has improved, he has more energy, more confidence and he no longer has trouble fitting in different vehicles for travel. He doesn't feel tempted by "bad food" anymore.

"I haven’t reached my weight loss goal just yet," Craft said. "But, it feels good knowing my story can help people who may be struggling with their weight."
