How Mitali Samant lost 15 kgs in 2.5 months?

With a balanced diet and exercise regimen, I lost 15 kg in 2.5 months. I've put on about 15 kilos since I started working three years ago. An unhealthy diet, erratic sleeping patterns, incorrect bodily alignments, and a desk job's lack of physical activity contributed to a sluggish and indolent habit.

The turning point

I weighed 73 kgs in November 2019. I hurt my knee mid-November 2019 while dancing at a wedding reception. After an MRI, my doctor advised me to rigorously restrict all physical activity, including dancing and hiking. He merely suggested stretching my leg's knee joint. The two pastimes that genuinely make me happy are travelling and dancing. I had planned a trek for December 2019, however I had to postpone it due to my knee issue. I think my body weight was the biggest issue. All of our bodily weight is supported by our knees. Most of my issues were related to my weight. I took 2.5 months off. I made a New Year's resolve to lose 15 kg and make up for what I had lost. I vowed to myself that I would regain my health.

Diet followed

I followed portion control and included more fresh and organic food items in my diet. My plate had equal amounts of proteins, fibre, and vitamins. I ate seeds and nuts as an evening snack. I also opted for an early dinner time. The timing for my last meal was 7:00 PM.

4/6

Workout regime

I started taking boxing lessons at the beginning of February 2020 for strength. I showed up on time for the classes and followed my nutrition plan. I continued my diet during Lockdown and joined live dancing lessons.

What foods did I avoid?

I compiled a list of foods to avoid. That list included all outside junk food, desserts, rice, and wheat. I allowed myself a cheat day every two weeks. My weight loss at the end of February was about 8 kg.

How do I stay motivated

My college clothes are now beginning to fit me. My skin looks better, and I feel happier, lighter, and more self-assured. I'm really pleased with myself that I followed through on my resolution. All of my clothing is now comfortable for me, and my knee feels considerably better. Moreover, I can dance again!
