Healthy snacking

All of us feel the hunger pangs intensely during evenings and end up craving unhealthy snacks. Eating healthy snacks such as seasonal fruits and green tea during this time will help lose weight. Try not to give in to cravings and eat high calorie fast foods.

4/6

Sleep more, sleep better

A good quality and good quantities of sleep is one of the key factors that help with weight loss. A good seven to eight hour sleep ensures that all bodily functions take place in the proper manner. Proper secretion of hormones also takes place if a person’s sleep cycle is regular. Sleeping at improper times for irregular hours may lead to insufficient secretion of hormones like ghrelin which can give rise to cravings and lead to weight gain.

5/6

Lots of water

Drinking six to eight glasses of water every day is a cliché that holds true for those who are trying to lose weight. Make sure that you stay hydrated because drinking water obviates water retention in the body which can make one feel bloated and also contribute to weight gain. Drinking sufficient water also helps flush out toxins from the body which cleanses the system and optimizes other somatic functions.

6/6

Avoid canned foods

While a lot of ‘low calorie’ and ‘sugar free’ foods might lure you into trying them, it is to be remembered that these foods are mostly canned or tinned items that have added sugars and preservatives which can lead to excessive weight gain instead of weight loss. They might make you feel hungry more often and thwart your weight loss efforts considerably.
