6 smart tips to prevent gain weight while eating out

The most difficult part about losing weight is controlling the cravings. There are various people who follow their diet, do regular workouts but cannot control when it comes to their cravings, which disrupts their weight loss goals. It becomes even more difficult when people around you force you to eat like there is no tomorrow.

If you are on a weight loss plan and going out with friends, here are some tips to avoid that unnecessary eating and thus weight gain.

2/7

Do not go out empty stomach

The best way to avoid junk food is by keeping yourself already full. If you feel full already, even the most tempting food will not tempt you. So, next time when you step out for dinner or a party, eat before you leave. Because you lose self-control when you are hungry. If you are in a hurry, you can have a protein shake.

3/7

Focus on eating protein

If there is no option and you have to eat something, focus on eating protein, which is not fried. You can have chicken tikka, paneer tikka or tofu. Choose something that is grilled or steamed. Add spicy sauce, so that you do not eat too much of it. Sauces are full of calories and thus best to be consumed in moderation.

4/7

Say NO to alcohol

You really need to have self-control when it comes to having alcohol. Alcohol can damage all the hard work you have done for days. Having alcohol will hinder your workout the next day, which you definitely don't want. You can have some water, soda or lemonade to stop yourself from having alcohol.

5/7

Do not have fries

Fries can disturb your macro balance. The extra fat and carbs in fries will load you up with thousands of extra calories. Choose a flavourful salad instead, which will fill you up faster and keep you engaged.

6/7

Carry some food with you

You might think it's funny, but it's a saviour trick. When you can only see calorie-laden food around you and can't figure out what to eat, your homemade food is the best rescue.

7/7

Count your macros

If you are on a calorie-restrictive diet, you can save some calories for the party. For example, if you are on a 2000 calorie plan, you can have 800 calories through the day and have the rest at the party. A chicken breast weighing 200 grams will contain around 250 calories. Even adding condiments will not make more than 300 calories.
