Weight loss rule: Do not skip dinner

You don't have to starve in order to lose weight. Many people skip dinner under the assumption that it will help them to lose weight. While this is misleading, one should know that dinner should always be nutritious and light.

Weight loss transformation: Elon Musk reveals he lost 13 kg, shares 3 secrets that worked for him

If you are someone who is always clueless about what to have for dinner, here are few healthy options for you:

2/6

Make it a simpler version of your lunch

If you don't have time to cook a dinner, make use of the leftovers of the lunch but keep it simpler and smaller.

Lunch is always lavish and heavy. Dinner on the other hand should be simple and easy on the stomach.

Simple rice and dal can also make an amazing and filling lunch.

3/6

Lentil soup

Heat a pressure cooker, add oil to it

Add sliced onions and cook until brown

To this add ginger, garlic paste and tomatoes

Add soaked lentil dal to this

Add water, salt and turmeric powder

Cook it for 15 minutes

Let it cool down properly

You can add coconut milk to this and fresh coriander leaves

Serve it hot

4/6

Vegetable khichdi

Take vegetable of your choice

Soak rice

To a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, sliced onion

Cook until onions are brown (optionally, you can add ginger-garlic paste)

Add cut vegetables to this

Saute for 3 minutes

Add rice

Now add water, salt and turmeric to this

Pressure cook it for 10 minutes

Let the cooker release the pressure

Add a tablespoon of ghee and serve it hot

5/6

Oats pongal

Cook moong dal in a pressure cooker

Heat a pan with ghee/oil and temper with cumin seeds, mustard seeds, methi seeds

Add pepper and green chilli.

Add water, turmeric and salt

Add the cooked dal and oats

Cook until you get a thick consistency like a porridge

Serve it hot

6/6

Quinoa upma

Wash quinoa properly or else the upma might taste bitter

Cut carrot, cauliflower, beans, green peas and other vegetables into thin slices

Heat a pan

Pop some mustard seeds in oil in a kadhai

Add one tablespoon of urad dal to this

Fry on low flame, until urad dal turns golden brown

Add onion and curry leaves to this (option: you can add ginger-garlic paste to this)

Add the vegetables and saute

Add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder

Add the washed quinoa

Add water and cover everything till the upma is properly dried up

Cover it for a while
