Splitsvilla heartthrob Varun Sood shares a fitness hack we can’t miss

The Splitsvilla 9 heartthrob Varun Sood has not only stolen hearts because of his charming smile but also for his hot abs and fit body. The 21-year old was hard to beat in any challenge throughout the show and never failed to impress us. Varun shared his fitness regimen, routine that he followed for Splitsvilla and a fitness hack for his fans.

What is your fitness regime?

A lot of people think fitness is all about having a good body but for me, fitness is a way of life. It’s about staying fit and having fun. I play a lot of sports like basketball and Frisbee. I do a lot of calisthenics. The agenda is to be fit, not to have a body that cannot be functional.

What pre-workout and post-workout foods do you prefer?

I don't have any specific diet that I follow. But I do take two bananas before I go and train as they offer me with the energy I need. I have chocolate milk after I’m done with my workout because that helps my muscles recover and charge me up again.

Which fitness routine did you follow for Splitsvilla 9 and MTV Roadies X2?

During Roadies X2, I only used to play basketball but after Roadies, I was introduced to calisthenics and so I started doing it. During Splitsvilla 9, I did a lot of functional training and HIIT. It helps to increase stamina and strength, a good body is just an added advantage.

​Any workouts you're planning to try?

I want to train like the UFC athletes. These guys are insane. The kind of strength, agility, stamina and swiftness they have is amazing. That is something I plan to do in the near future.

Any fitness hack for your fans?

Just pick a sport and start playing. That’s the easiest way of getting fit as you start enjoying fitness then.

​ Who has the most impressive physique in Bollywood according to you?

Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar and Rannvijay Singha. According to me, these are the strongest and the fittest people in Bollywood. They actually enjoy fitness and the things they can do with their bodies is amazing.

​ Which fitness fad should be avoided?

A lot of people leave water, salt etc. to get the "perfect body". I just want to say that don't resort to these unhealthy things. Fitness isn't about having the perfect abs. Eat right, drink enough water and don't go on a crazy diet that can harm your body in the long run.
