Is it safe to have sex in bath tub? Keep these 7 things in mind

It is not all that fun!

We honestly don’t blame you for this fantasy. We are the generation that has grown up on an ample dose of Bollywood and Hollywood movies, which have made cosy times in the water look fun and well, extremely enticing! (Hello lazy lamhe!)

2/10

Is it as good as it looks on the screen?

Sorry to burst your bubble (literally) but like so many things that look way better on the screen than they are in real life, having sex in the water should not be something in your bucket list and we have seven genuine reasons why. So, read on to know more.

3/10

It carries the risk of UTI

If you choose to get intimate in a pool or a hot tub, be rest assured that it is upping the risk of a potential infection. You should be especially wary if you suffer from frequent bouts of UTI (urinary tract infection) as the germs present in the water bodies may come in contact with your urethra during sex and it is going to be one nasty infection after that.

4/10

Water does not act as a lubricant

Yes, even though water is wet, it is NOT a lubricant. In fact, it can make you seriously dry down there by washing away the natural lubricant of your body. Contrary to what you may be thinking all along, sex in the water actually acts as a hindrance in the ‘smooth sailing’. So, unless and until you are up for some really uncomfortable and dry positions in the water, we suggest that you stick to the land.

5/10

Water bodies are NOT really clean

Well, it is not really a rocket-science that water bodies contain some nasty germs and bacteria that you wouldn't actually want anywhere near your pubes. When you engage in some intimate stuff in any of these water bodies (including pools and bathtubs) there is a strong chance that you will encounter germs and bacteria and push it near your vagina.

6/10

It can get really painful down there

While some sexual activities are safe (like using your hands on each other) you should be careful about penetration, as due to the lack of lubricant, it could leave you in severe pain.

7/10

It can make condoms less effective

Not that condoms are not tricky on their own, using one inside the water can be kind of trickier. Additionally, the chemicals present in the water and extreme hot and cold temperatures can cause perforations in the condom, rendering it less effective. It may result in unwanted pregnancy and even STIs. Also, the chlorine can really irritate your privates. Just saying.

8/10

Be ready for some wear and tear

This one is a no-brainer. Due to the lack of lubrication in water, thanks to your natural lubrication being washed away, there are chances of tiny vaginal tears. The drier your pubes, the more the friction.

9/10

Increased risk of yeast infection

The chlorine present in the hot tub or pool can lead to some really nasty yeast infections because it messes up with the pH of your vagina. If you are someone who gets yeast infections pretty often, we suggest that you steer clear of any intimate activity in the water because it can increase the risk of yeast infections.

10/10

What can you do instead?

Instead of going all out in the water, we suggest clever usage of hands to engage in some foreplay to get turned on. After this, you can take the rest of the matter indoors.
