Period sex

Sex during periods is a big question for many. Will it be more pleasurable? Will you orgasm early? And the biggest question of them all, are there any chances of getting pregnant? As per studies and experts, the answer is yes and no both.

2/7

A common myth

A common myth when it comes to periods is that women can’t get pregnant when they are on their period. Even though the probability of pregnancy is low during periods, you cannot rule it out completely.

3/7

The ideal time to get pregnant

The ideal time for a woman to get pregnant is when she is ovulating, which means the ovary releases an egg for fertilization. If at this time, there is a sperm in the uterus, then there are higher chances of the woman getting pregnant.

4/7

Ovulation

Ovulation is based on a woman’s menstrual cycle. Typically, menstruation cycle is 28-30 days long, however, it can vary from woman to woman.

5/7

Sex while you're menstruating

If you have sex while you’re menstruating, chances are you will not ovulate for sometime after that. If you do not know your ovulation pattern, start tracking it between when your last period ends and when the next one begins.

6/7

Another possibility

Another possibility to be taken into account is that a man’s sperm can live inside the woman’s uterus for 72 hours after sex. Therefore, if you have sex towards the end of your menstrual cycle, chances of becoming pregnant will increase.

7/7

Probability

Therefore, the possibility of a woman getting pregnant on the first day or perhaps the second day of her period is almost zero. But this increases with each successive day, even though the woman is still menstruating. The likelihood of pregnancy is less at the beginning of your period and this chance rises as your near the end of your period.
