The acupuncturist inserts needles to stimulate the points where the meridians intersect, which are called nodes. In acupuncture, it is believed that when the meridians in the body are blocked, the nodes become electrically charged. Inserting the needles helps to release the blockage and restore energy flow, balance, and health throughout the body. Following this, all the muscles and organs located along the meridian begin to relax.
Even the University of Maryland Medical Center, Western medicine acknowledged that acupuncture is an effective treatment for pain and is quite helpful in treating certain illnesses.
Why does a person feel dizzy?
Feeling dizzy or lightheaded post-treatment is quite normal and you must not panic about it. It can be due to renewed energy flow through previously blocked meridians. It also a sign that your body is healing itself. The dizziness doesn't last longer than an hour. If dizziness is accompanied by mild nausea, then you should consult your therapist.
