Here is how you can increase your breast milk naturally

New mothers are often worrying about their breast milk production. They fear they are not producing enough milk, necessary for the development of her baby. A majority of women go through this problem. Nursing a child is surely not an easy task, especially when breast milk is their only source of nutrition. And in that duration, they need it to suffice their hunger and nutritional requirement. Here are some tips that you can try at home to increase your milk supply.

Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek seeds are a good source of phytoestrogen and also have galactagogue properties that help nursing mothers. It is one of the best ingredients to increase breast milk supply.

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds, 1 cup of water and honey to taste.

How to have it: Add fenugreek seeds in a cup of water and boil it. Remove the seeds and let it cool for a while. When it is warm enough to drink, add little honey and consume it three times daily.

Drumsticks

Rich in many nutrients, drumsticks help in stimulating mammary glands to produce more milk. Drumstick juice also improves blood circulation.

Ingredients: 1/2 cup of freshly extracted drumstick juice.

How to have it: Consume half cup of drumstick juice once every day.

Fennel seeds

Fennel seeds increase the galactagogue of nursing mothers. The seeds help to increase the production of breast milk.

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds, 1 cup of hot water

How to have it: Add fennel seeds to water and boil it. Strain after minutes and let the tea cool for a while. Drink this tea 2-3 times a day. You can also chew some fennel seeds.

Garlic

Garlic is a superfood and helps to cure numerous health problems. It contains lactogenic properties and helps to increase a mother's milk supply.

Ingredients: Few peeled garlic cloves

How to have it: The most convenient way to have clove is to make a paste and add it in your food. You can also chew a few garlic cloves if you can bear the smell.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is used in different dishes to improve the taste. Mothers suffering from insufficient milk supply can use this herb to increase their flow.

How to have it: You can either add it to your food or your tea.

Almond milk

Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, almond is excellent for a new mother. A nursing mother should consume almond milk on a regular basis to improve both the quantity and quality of her breast milk.

Apart from having these food items, try to include a healthy diet in your daily routine.

Massage your breast to increase the supply of breast milk.

Do not wear tight bras and tops. Wear loose clothes.

Drink plenty of fluids.
