1/6

"Indigestion type" feeling

One of the classic signs of heart disease is an indigestion-type feeling. People often associate the uneasiness to indigestion as it is a common occurrence.

Uneasiness in the form of a burning sensation in the chest or stomach is an indication of a heart related problem though it is nearly impossible to tell it distinctly whether it is related to heart or is it a gastrointestinal issue.

If the uneasiness does not subside seek medical help without any delay.

2/6

Tightness around the chest

A constricting feeling like having a tight band across the chest or like something heavy has been put on the chest is a typical sign of heart related complications. Heaviness, tightness and an extra pressure in the chest is mostly seen as a primary indicator of heart attack.

If the crushing pain in your chest is getting unbearable and is recurrent in nature please visit a doctor.

3/6

Pain in the jaw and neck region

During a heart attack, the pain does not center in the chest, it radiates rapidly. If you are experiencing unexplainable pain in the jaw and neck region call the emergency helpline and seek medical help.

Jaw pain is often misunderstood. But if they are accompanied by dizziness and numbness the patient should be rushed to the hospital.

4/6

Nausea and bloating

This is commonly seen in women. In this case the patient gets uneasy and is likely to vomit before feeling the chest pain.

This sign is remotely connected to heart problems but is seen in many patients. Hence uneasiness in the abdominal region which might seem like bloating or gas build up should not be ignored.

5/6

Excessive weakness

Heart related issues are directly related to the fact that during this time certain parts of the body do not get sufficient blood flow due to which the patient experiences shortness of breath and fatigue.

Physical exertion comes easily even with minimal physical activity.

6/6

Numbness in calves while walking

This is another sign of heart disease though it is distantly related to the condition.

"This kind of leg pain, which is felt when you exercise and stops when you stop, can be a sign of peripheral vascular disease (PVD), a circulation disorder," experts at John Hopkins say and explain that people with PVD often have atherosclerosis, the buildup of damaging plaque in the arteries.
