Strip down and snooze!

While usually people change into their pajamas and old comfortable t-shirts for a comfortable sleep session, skipping on putting on your sleepwear may come with health benefits, along with a sound sleep. Sounds interesting? Read on!

Sleeping naked comes with many health benefits, along with spicing your sex life if you sleep with your partner. Here are some surprising health benefits of sleeping with no sleepwear.
2/6

Reduces stress and anxiety

Sleeping naked could help reduce your overall stress and anxiety, especially if you sleep with your partner. The skin-to-skin contact can increase your levels of oxytocin, which can help to reduce your stress levels.

If you sleep alone, better sleep quality due to cooler body temperatures can help reduce your stress and anxiety levels.

3/6

Prevents weight gain

Studies have found that poor sleep quality is also linked to weight gain. If sleeping naked helps you sleep better, then there are chances you may also be preventing unnecessary weight gain. Further, since it helps your body cool down better, you may also produce more brown fat, which boosts your metabolism. High levels of brown fat may reduce your risk of conditions like obesity and diabetes.

Lowers risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sleep deprivation increases your risk of heart disease and diabetes, among other problems. If sleeping naked helps you receive the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep each night, it might help to reduce your risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

5/6

Promotes vaginal health

Tight-fitting or sweaty underwear can increase your risk of a vaginal yeast infection, especially if you sleep in the same underwear you were wearing the entire day. Sleeping naked is a great way to air out your vagina and keep it healthy, avoiding yeast infections that are likely to develop in warm, moist places.

Increases male fertility

Men can also benefit from sleeping naked. A recent study of 656 males found a link between wearing tight-fitting underwear and lower sperm count. Men who reported wearing boxers had a higher sperm concentration and total sperm count than those who wore tight underwear. According to the US National Library of Medicine, Biotech Information, scrotal cooling directly impacts sperm health and motility. Sleeping naked can help to keep your testicles cool and at an optimal temperature for sperm health.
