Side-effects of not having sex

Here’s what happens if you quit sex

Having sex is not a prerequisite for good health, despite the fact that it can help maintain or enhance health on a number of levels. Every person has different desires and wants when it comes to sex. If you’re going through a dry spell, make plans to end it. Here’s why:

2/6

No sex damages libido

According to a small study of 174 participants from 2014 published in The Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality, having sex on day one actually increases your desire for it on day two. It's also possible that the opposite is true—that not having sex has the impact of making you want sex less generally. Some people may find that this makes it more difficult to turn on, even if you want to. Unexpectedly, going for a lengthy period of time without having sex can cause you to completely lose interest in it. The more sex you have, the more of it you crave. Your libido is increased by regular sex.

3/6

Weak immune system

By generating endorphins, regular sex strengthens the immune system and gets the body ready to fight off disease. This implies that having sex less frequently may lead to more frequent colds and flu. According to a study, college students who engaged in regular intercourse had higher concentrations of the immune system-fighting antibodies immunoglobulin A in their saliva.

4/6

Rise in stress and blood pressure levels

Your blood pressure and stress levels may increase if you aren't having sex or exercising in any other way. Additionally, stress levels may increase if you aren't receiving "that release," which might lower your mood. If you decide to quit having sex, you can be aware to exercise in ways other than sexual activity as a way to balance your blood pleasure and stress, just like with the instances of anxiety symptoms and heart health described above.

5/6

Poor form of the pelvic floor

Every human has a pelvic floor, and depriving it of sex might weaken it. According to Dr. Queen, this may then have an impact on both your capacity for and the intensity of subsequent orgasms. "If you try to have one, it can feel weaker because the source of the wonderful pulses we experience with orgasm is the pulsating of the pelvic floor.

6/6

Poor prostate health

A 2016 longitudinal study published in European Urology found a negative correlation between the frequency of ejaculations and the risk of prostate cancer. More specifically, men with prostate disease who ejaculated less frequently than seven times per month had a higher risk of being given a prostate cancer diagnosis than men who ejaculated about 20 times per month.
