Expert shares common seeds that help in muscle growth

In the quest of health and wellness, we easily get distracted in searching for the next big superfood, but often the most important ones come in a small shape that are being overlooked like seeds. These tiny powerhouses offer great benefits when it comes to gaining muscles and one’s health. As a certified dietician, who has consulted with thousands of people to optimize their health, I can say that including certain seeds into daily meals can enhance one's fitness journey.

2/6

Chia seed

Let’s start with Chia seeds. Chia seeds contain omega-3 fatty acids, fibers, and protein which can lower inflammation, enhance quick muscle recovery, and provide a long lasting energy source. Chia seeds can also absorb water and expand in the stomach which results in the digestive system to perform smoothly. This is important for everyone on a structured meal plan.

3/6

Pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin (pepitas) seeds are great sources of zinc, magnesium, and iron which can support muscle contraction, smooth oxygen delivery, and keeping in check hormonal balance. They have great protein content which also makes it a great post workout snack especially when eaten with fruits or yogurt.

4/6

Flax seeds

Moving on to the next , that is flax seeds. They contain both soluble and insoluble fibers and also contain lignans which are plant based compounds along with antioxidant properties. They also support heart health and keeps your metabolism in check, both are essential for those looking to build lean muscle mass without excess fat gains.

5/6

Sunflower seeds

Sunflower seeds, which are sometimes overlooked, are actually rich in vitamin E and B, and complex vitamins, which helps us to improve metabolism and lowers the oxidative stress. These seeds are especially beneficial during times of excessive or high intensive exercise or calories restriction.

6/6

Hemp seeds

Finally, hemp seeds, because they contain all nine necessary amino acids and offer complete protein elements . For vegetarians and vegans who are trying to reach their protein targets without using artificial supplements, this is extremely valuable and uncommon in plant-based diets.
It is easy to introduce these seeds into your healthy diet, you may eat them naturally, you can also try them roasted or even add them to salads, cereal, and smoothies. Keeping in mind that the biggest long-lasting effects in diet are frequently achieved via simplicity and persistence. Despite their small size, seeds have a profound effect on immunity, vitality, and muscle health.
