Woman with 2 vaginas shares her experience

Evelyn Miller, now 31, from Queensland, Australia, was diagnosed with uterus didelphys in 2011. This means she has a double uterus, two sets of ovaries and two vaginas, which are all functional. As a teenager, Evelyn became anxious about her health and intimate relationships, according to Express UK. Here is more about the condition and how Evelyn has two healthy babies despite all odds.
What is uterus didelphys?
Uterus didelphys is a "rare congenital abnormality". It is a birth condition in which a thin wall of tissue runs down the length of the vagina, dividing it into two separate openings. Uterus didelphys does not cause any symptoms. Diagnosis typically occurs after a pelvic examination.
Risk of miscarriage
Evelyn was told that her condition made it more likely that she could suffer from a miscarriage. There are some women with the condition who are completely unable to have children. Evelyn, however, has been "very lucky", as she and her husband, Tom, share two healthy children. Still, her pregnancy wasn’t easy and they had to make sure she does not conceive in both uteruses.
How they avoided risk of double pregnancy
Evelyn shared, “There was always a risk I could be pregnant with two babies at the same time. When I was pregnant with one, we’d still have to use condoms if we wanted to have sex in the other vagina.”

Complications in pregnancy
"I was uncomfortable throughout my pregnancy - my bump was over to my right side because I was pregnant in my right uterus, meaning that the baby never sat central, so my back was terrible," Mirror UK quoted Evelyn. "There were also complications after I gave birth. Both of my babies were born very small and needed to spend months in intensive care."
Thankfully, her both children are “happy and healthy now".
Evelyn is now trying for a third child
Due to the two previous C-section deliveries, her doctor has warned that she can no longer use her right vagina for pregnancies and must also be careful during sex. She has been advised to try for a baby using her left vagina. Evelyn shared that she is not very happy with this as she can only orgasm from her right vagina.
