Following Nithin Kamath's stroke, his close friend shares a crucial message for people who walk 10,000 steps a day
The words from Nithin Kamath's post
A complete recovery, he suggested, might take three to six months. Many were taken aback by it because Kamath enjoys working out and occasionally posts pictures of himself at the gym. Kamath questioned in the post on X how someone who is healthy and self-sufficient might be impacted.
What did his friend say about fitness?
Now, his close partner named Dilip Kumar who has entered the discussion around health versus fitness. Along with being intimately involved with Nithin Kamath, Dilip Kumar is also connected to Rainmatter, a Zerodha program that supports Indian entrepreneurs in the financial and health sectors.
In a post, Dilip Kumar wrote, "We've trained together and participated in races. I know him a little better than others voicing opinions and commentary on social media."
Dilip Kumar stressed in a number of posts that being physically active is not always the same as being healthy. According to him, a common misconception is that the phrases "health" and "fitness" are synonymous, but they actually refer to different aspects of physical well-being.
According to Dilip Kumar, appearances can be deceiving, even if celebrities and athletes may seem strong and healthy. Even in physically fit persons, underlying medical illnesses, stress, poor nutrition, and lack of sleep can all lead to health problems, he explained.
"You don't get a heart attack or stroke from going to the gym or going for a run. Going overboard could make it happen. Thus, proceed in the appropriate measure," he stated.
What’s the best? Working out at the gym or completing 10,000 steps
According to him, fitness is basically the ability to perform physical activities; it includes qualities that people gain via exercise, such as strength, power, endurance, flexibility, and speed. However, he went on, "health" refers to whole well-being, which includes social, mental, and physical aspects as well as the harmonious operation of all body systems.
You might obtain your 10,000 steps a day, run, or frequent the gym. Health is not guaranteed by fitness," he stated.
Maintaining a balance between health and fitness becomes crucial in our fast-paced, stressful life full of diversions, he said, especially for people who place a high value on physical fitness. In order to support growth and wellbeing, he said, it's critical to prioritize relaxation in addition to physical activity and to manage stress efficiently.
He recommends the following for holistic well-being: keeping an eye on health with blood tests; consulting with medical specialists, certified nutritionists, and trainers; and spending more time with loved ones and friends rather than making comments on WhatsApp groups.
Prioritizing exercise moderation, making sure you get enough sleep, and lightening your workload can be effective for those who are overburdened with work commitments.
