Bone, joint and muscle pain is one of the common signs of coronavirus. While some may recover within a few days after being infected, others may have to deal with it for months even after recovering from the initial infection. The health issue can make it difficult for them to stay active, further intensifying the pain and stiffness in the joints and causing muscle weakness. Even basic activities like standing climbing, grabbing any object or moving the head may become difficult.

What should you do

If your muscle ache isn't getting better or is affecting you more than ever talk to your doctor. He/she may prescribe you some medication and ask you to perform some mild exercises to reduce the stiffness in the joints and muscles. Even if it hurts, do not sit quietly, it will make the matter worse. Plan your day carefully and engage in some moderate activities. You can take part in household activities like gardening, cooking or dusting. Even performing low-impact exercises like yoga, stretching, and Tai Chi can help you deal with the issues of joint pain. Avoid high-impact activities like weight lifting or running as they may put unnecessary pressure on your joint, intensifying the pain. Lastly, do not stay in the same position for a long time. Keep changing your posture or position to avoid muscle stiffness.
