Lesser known COVID symptoms

Ever since the Coronavirus pandemic began, many of the signs of feeling sick have fallen under the radar of “this could be COVID!” Several symptoms like fever, loss of smell and taste as well as shortness of breath were also dubbed as classic symptoms of COVID. However, with more mutations and new variants, there was also a change in the dominant COVID symptoms. Apart from the commonly-known symptoms, there are also several signs which may not happen to everyone, but can be very troubling for those who go through them.

2/6

Chicken pox-type rash

This type of rash is the most common type that people usually get due to COVID. It appears as small areas of itchy red bumps. These can occur anywhere on the body, and are often seen to start around the elbows or knees. However, they usually do not affect the facial area. Sometimes, these can be crusty or even form blisters.

3/6

Hive-type rash

Urticaria is a skin infection which is often caused due to an allergic reaction. However, the hive-type rashes of urticaria can also develop due to COVID. It is the second most commonly reported rash. These usually appear anytime, all of a sudden, as raised bumps on the skin which can either come or go quickly, or may even stay for a while. These can develop on any part of the body. Some people may have body areas where these bumps happen more often. This rash is extremely itchy and can even cause swelling of the lips and eyelids.

Skipping meals

Skipping meals because you are unable to sleep as before, is another sign of COVID. This loss of appetite could be either due to lack of hunger or weakness as a result from the infection. Studies have also found that other symptoms like headache, loss of smell, diarrhea, sore throat, chest pain, cough etc, can also ruin one’s appetite and the desire to eat.

Other COVID symptoms

Apart from the above-mentioned signs, COVID can also lead to the following common symptoms:

-Fever

-Cough

-Shortness of breath

-Fatigue

-Body aches

-Headache

-Loss of taste or smell

-Extreme tiredness

-Brain fog

-Chest pain

-Heart palpitations

-Headache

-Sleep problems
