PCOS Common Problem In Women Nowadays

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the disbalance in the hormones of women who are of reproductive age. Its symptoms like irregular periods, acne, weight gain, anxiety, hair loss and difficulty in conception often go unnoticed and therefore undiagnosed. Since the disease is not fully curable but can be well managed with a healthy lifestyle and proper medication. Some celebs have been open about dealing with PCOS and how they have bravely endured its complications bravely. Let’s know about them and how they have braved this problem with few alterations in life.

Jillian has been dealing with PCOS for over 30 years, but has been fighting with it courageously. From excruciating period pains to insulin resistance she has been braving the disease in all weathers. The celeb ostracised refined sugar and processed food from her diet. She is a mother of two children and follows a strict workout regime consisting of HIIT, resistance training and other exercises.

Harnaam Kaur

The Indian- origin British model Harnaam Kaur started keeping a beard at the age of 16, as she was diagnosed with PCOS. She bears a confident demeanour and rocks her look with facial hair on social media. She propagates body positivity and keeps her mental health intact. Harnaam had to face a lot of body shaming and was bullied for her excess facial hair. She had anxiety pangs and even felt suicidal at some point but, refused to surrender to this pain and so called beauty parameters set by the society.

The Star Wars actor suffered a lot of pain and thus underwent a laparoscopic surgery and several medical consultations when she was diagnosed with PCOS at 15. Ridley experienced extremely bad skin , which made her loose self- confidence. She reformed her diet like cutting out dairy, sugar and processed foods. Her advice to PCOS patients- consult a specialist, get hormones and allergy tests done and never give up.
