‘Working out and eating right’...is actress Mrinalini Sharma’s fitness mantra.My exercise regimeMy exercise regime centres around core strength and physical fitness. I usually go for a run in the mornings, followed by intense kickboxing classes with my trainer Shafiq-ur-Rehman, five times a week. I also swear by a strength and conditioning workout designed by the fitness Instructor, Praveen Tokas.
I usually do not go to the gym unless I’m on an outdoor shooting schedule, as I find the gym rather boring.
My dietI am blessed with a high metabolism rate, which I tend to take for granted. But these days, I’m following a regimented diet thta is very low on carbs but high on protein, supplemented by lots of fruits and vegetables. I eat five small meals a day.
My problem areasI have spondylitis that makes shoulder workouts tough. Towards this end, my workouts are designed so that the neck and shoulder areas do not get affected.
My strengthsBoth kickboxing and strength and conditioning classes have helped me build core strength. The idea is to be toned but not muscular, and at the same time strong. I’m considered a very good boxer and am very proud of this.
