Cycling for weight loss

If you are trying to lose weight and find gymming dull and boring, then cycling can be a great workout for you. Cycling is not only a fun activity, but it is also a great form of workout to tone your muscles, strengthen your bone and lose weight. But just hopping on a bike and going for a long ride won't help you achieve your target. You need to follow a well-planned approach to achieve your goal.

Here are 5 things you need to take care of if you are cycling for weight loss:

2/6

The time spent

The total amount of time spent pedaling is important when you are trying to lose weight by cycling. While fixing the time, you must remember that the metabolism of every person is different and you first need to understand your body's requirement before starting any routine. For your reference, one hour of cycling can help you burn up to 500 calories. So, if you ride bike consistently and have a healthy diet then you will be able to lose 500 grams in a week.

3/6

Fix the timing

If you have decided to lose weight by cycling then plan your routine correctly. Ride bike every morning before having breakfast. Riding bike on an empty stomach helps to burn fat 20 percent faster and effectively, claims studies. This will also refresh your mind and will fill you with energy to kick start your day.

4/6

Take longer rides

Challenge your body by increasing the distance of your ride. Longer rides are good to lose belly fat. Go for a ride on a less crowded road, so that you ride for a longer stretch and burn body fat easily.

5/6

Ride uphill

Once you are comfortable cycling on a straight road, try to ride the bike on a slope. You will have to push harder to ride uphill and it will also help you burn more calories and shed weight faster.

6/6

Check your posture

Cycling in the correct posture is the key to lose weight. Make sure you are cycling in the correct posture, speed, grip, and pace. These things are very essential when trying to shed kilos.

Apart from all these things eat healthily and follow a consistent exercise routine. Your focus should not only be to lose weight but to adopt a healthy and fit lifestyle.
