Korean culture is increasingly gaining worldwide popularity, whether it is the music, movies, food, TV shows or beauty hacks.



Many Korean people appear to have the perfectly slim figure that others aspire for. If you have been assuming it's all genetic, then that is not true. People in Korea who look physically fit and lean actively workout at home, parks or the gym to achieve and maintain their shape.

​Pilates​

The focus in Korea is not to become thin but rather having a healthy and glowing body. It has shifted from weight loss to muscle building.

To achieve that, people in Korea choose to do Pilates regularly. As per reports, Rosé and Jennie from BlackPink practice it. Pilates is known to strengthen the core and improve posture as well as flexibility.

Apart from building great shape, Pilates also helps them to improve their breathing, health, and mood.

​Bae Suzy's penguin exercise​

Bae Suzy is a popular South Korean singer, actor and model. Suzy's favourite penguin exercises focus on your arm and are very easy to do. You could do this workout anywhere, anytime. To do this exercise, first stretch your wrists out at a right angle, like a penguin. The quickly move your wrists in and out while flapping your arms up and down, just like a penguin. You do not need to raise your arms too high up.

According to Suzy, you have to not stop until the muscles in your arms hurt. It’s an adorable and effective exercise to get rid of arm flab.

Korean people who do abs training aim to achieve the 11 abs. This is a popular term for well-defined abs which have 2 vertical lines across the abdomen, resembling number 11.

Some popular abs workouts include cross body planks and crunch variations. It is important to first do a 10 minute warm up and then move onto a vigorous abs training session.
