With a chain of festivals done and Diwali just about 21 days away, this is perhaps a good time to shed some weight and get back in shape by the time the festival of lights shows up. We list some of Aurangabad's jogging destinations where you could put on your sneakers and head to, to get back in shape.

Himayat BaUgh
Location: Near Delhi Gate
This 17th century garden is part of the Marathwada Agricultural University and is one of the best places to head to for your morning jog. With ample greenery, it is also the perfect place for peacock sighting and enjoying the early morning fog. "Running on a treadmill in the confines of a gym can get boring. I come here with my friends daily for a jog. Every Sunday, we go trekking to the hills nearby," shared Ayan Ahmed, a science graduate.

N-2 Cricket Ground
Location: N-2, Cidco
A 700-meter track circling the cricket ground and lined with trees, bustles with activity in the morning with cricket practice and joggers. The soft-mud ground is ideal for exercise and sees around 1000 people coming here daily. Shweta Saboo, an assistant professor who visits the place, said, "The place is centrally located and is a preferred jogging destination for many of the city’s residents. I have also made a friend circle since the time I started jogging here."

Dr BAMU University
Location: Botanical Garden, University
Full of lofty trees, this place is paradise for fitness freaks. Besides being pleasant and away from the city’s hustle and bustle, its wide roads and the carpet of fallen flowers are very inviting too. One can find people of all age groups, from children to senior citizens, jogging, walking or indulging in exercise activities here. "I visit Dr BAMU University campus for a walk every morning because it is not as crowded as other jogging parks in the city. One also tends to meet the same people daily, adding to the positivity of the place," said Amit Joshi, a pharmacy student.
Divisional Sports Complex
Location: Garkheda
Those who’ve always wondered what it feels like running a marathon at an Olympic stadium can get a feel of it here. Built 6 years ago, this sports complex has a 400-meter jogging track, open for all. A hub for sports like football, badminton and athletics, a nominal annual membership of Rs 350 is to be paid if one wishes to avail the centre’s services. "I have been coming here for the past three years and the ambience and infrastructure of the place ensure that one has a proper workout," said 21-year-old Varun Sharma, an engineering student.
Road to Aurangabad Caves
Location: Behind Bibi-ka-Maqbara
The scenery at this location is inviting enough for a morning stroll or jog. A place for experienced joggers, this is wheer you should go if you are looking for an extensive workout. One can enjoy the picturesque, panoramic view of the city while exercising routine. "The location and surrounds of the place provide respite from one’s hectic schedule thereby making a jog here, a real stress buster," said Sudarshan Rathod, an actor and a fitness enthusiast. He added, "Three weeks of daily jogging over two to three hours here, can result in a weight loss of around 5 kg."
Walking plaza
Location: Army ground, Bansilal Nagar
This is the best place to go if you are a first-time runner, looking to build some stamina first. With both concrete roads and lawn tracks, the place is ideal for some exercise as well. It is common to see people relaxing and reading the papers or catching up post their morning workout. “It’s not just the desire to be fit, but also the atmosphere of this plaza that motivates me to wake up early in the morning and come here for a walk. The grass track is ideal for walking as it protects the knees too,” added 65-year-old Harishchandra Gupta, a city resident.
