Hrithik Roshan’s incredible fitness journey

After the success of his recent release - Vikram Vedha, along with Saif Ali Khan - Bollywood’s Greek God Hrithik Roshan will soon be seen in ‘Fighter’, which is touted to be India’s first aerial action film, opposite superstar Deepika Padukone.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Kris Gethin, who is training Hrithik for the upcoming flick slated to release in January 2023, spilled the beans on Hrithik’s fitness regime and diet in preparation for his role.

Hrithik and Kris go way back

When Kris first met Hrithik, the otherwise superfit actor was “bedridden for three months because of a ruptured disc.”

Kris shared that back then, Hrithik “was eating a lot of food and following unhealthy habits.” What followed was a change in his workout regime, and within a span of 9-10 weeks, Roshan was completely transformed for Krrish 3.

Planning and prepping for ‘Fighter’

Hrithik was in touch with his trainer through online sessions, but then he flew in for a major physical transformation for ‘Fighter’. Kris revealed that in the process, Hrithik had to deal with multiple injuries, but his hard work and determination finally paid off for his new avatar.

Workout regime

In training, they worked out by focusing on two body parts in one training session. Sometimes they would focus on only one body part.

As for the frequency, Hrithik trained for 3 days at a stretch and then took a day off. Each workout session lasted for about an hour. This was followed by a steady “cardio workout every day for about 20 minutes”.

Here’s what Hrithik eats

“Hrithik is eating six meals a day and is currently consuming about 4,000 calories per day,” Kris told The Indian Express.

He explained that the focus is on making him eat well enough to build muscles. He eats protein rich food items such as poultry, fish, egg whites, and protein shake.

For carbohydrates, he eats potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, and oats. He also eats healthy fats such as nuts, egg yolks, and some olive oil.

6/6

No cheat meals allowed

If you have previously followed Hrithik’s diet, you would know the actor has a sweet tooth and usually has cravings for sugary foods like chocolate or cake. However, in his strict preparation for fighter, the actor is not allowed any cheat meals. That is definitely a lot of discipline to achieve his desired results.
