Simple drinks to lose weight

Winters do not just bring with them chilly weather along with cozy cups of hot chocolate and fuzzy blankets, but also indulgence with sweets and sugar. Be it the peanut chikki you buy from the vendors to the warm cup of sugary hot chocolate you drink before bed, the winter season has a way of making sure that your sugar intake is high at all times. And this is exactly why people also say that losing weight in the winter is very difficult. But, to help you keep the extra kilos away and stay consistent in your weight loss journey, here we list a few drinks to add to your diet to keep the winter weight away.

2/7

Lemon mint tea

The citrusy goodness of lemon, the kick of mint, and the warmth of the tea make this the perfect way to lose winter weight. Rich in vitamin C, the lemon juice in the tea helps in digestion and detox, whereas the mint soothes the stomach and throat which can help curb hunger pangs. To prepare the lemon tea, simply add some lemon juice or soak some lemon wedges along with mint leaves in a bottle of water overnight. Next morning, boil this water for about 5 minutes. And voila, you have just prepared for yourself the perfect winter tea that will not just be good in taste but will also keep the extra kilos away.

3/7

Beetroot juice

Beetroot juice is not just rich in nutrients but this low-calorie and filling juice can also help you keep the winter weight at bay.

Packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, beetroot is known for its ability to support liver function and detoxify the body. This helps the body's natural fat-burning processes and the fiber in it helps you feel full for a long time. To prepare a cup of beet juice, just grate one whole beetroot and blend it along with some water or you can simply use a juicer for it. Add some lemon juice and a pinch of black salt to enhance the taste.

4/7

Cinnamon tea

A comforting and aromatic drink, cinnamon tea offers many health benefits and one of them is weight management. Cinnamon has a strong, earthy flavour which people usually love. When paired with a hot cup of tea, it is like the cherry on a winter cake. Cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar levels and its flavour can help reduce sugar cravings. Further, a warm cup of cinnamon tea at night or early in the morning can help boost metabolism thus aiding the fat-burning process. To prepare cinnamon tea, just simmer 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks in hot water and let it infuse for about 5-7 minutes. Having this tea before meals can also aid digestion.

5/7

Coconut cinnamon tea

If you are not a fan of tea or drinks that do not have milk in them, we have an option for you as well! The coconut cinnamon tea combines the benefits of cinnamon with the goodness and richness of coconut milk. To make this drink, infuse some cinnamon sticks in coconut milk and let it boil for some time till the colour of the tea changes. Pour it into a glass, sprinkle some cinnamon powder on top of it and your coconut cinnamon tea is ready. This creamy beverage will not only aid in weight loss but also provide a comforting indulgence during colder days.

6/7

ACV and turmeric shots

The ACV and turmeric shots although aren’t very pleasant to consume, they have ample health benefits that will make up for the taste. ACV turmeric shots can boost your metabolism stay and also aid digestion. Turmeric, containing curcumin, boasts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, aiding weight loss by boosting fat burning. Prepare a shot by combining ground turmeric with 'mother'-containing apple cider vinegar.

7/7

Lemon chia water

Another simple way to keep the excess weight at bay is the lemon and chia seeds water. Chia seeds are loaded with fiber, which promotes a feeling of fullness and prevents overeating. They also contain essential fatty acids that aid in fat burning. To make yourself a glass of lemon chia water, remember to soak a tbsp of chia seeds in the water overnight. Next morning, add some lime juice to the chia seed water and have it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. If the chia seeds have swollen and absorbed all the water, feel free to add some more. This hydrating drink not only supports weight loss but also boosts hydration and provides essential nutrients.
