Islam emphasizes the importance of healthy eating within the Islamic faith. Here are some recommended healing foods mentioned in the Quran and consumed by the Prophet Muhammad.

Milk



In addition to protein, milk contains a variety of vitamins and minerals, including calcium, which is essential for healthy bones. The Holy Quran also mentions milk: "We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to drinkers."

Black seed (Kalonji)

Black seed, or kalonji, is well known for its ability to improve digestive health, control blood sugar, strengthen the immune system, stop hair loss, and aid in weight loss. The Prophet SAW said, “Use this black seed. Indeed, it has a cure for every disease except As-Sam (Death).

Pomegranate



A study by the Cleveland Clinic Health Essentials found that pomegranates and their natural juice had anti-cancer qualities, high antioxidant content, and the potential to enhance prostate health. Pomegranate is one of the foods that the Quran mentions multiple times. Quran's Surah Al-An'am, Chapter 6, Verse 99 lists pomegranate as one of the fruits that He creates for us to reap benefits from.



Barley



A National Institutes of Health study found that eating barley increased the lifespan, postponed locomotor atrophy, and increased spatial awareness and balancing impairment. Because of its enormous nutritional richness, barley is also a very efficient treatment for fever. It used to be consumed by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as porridge, bread, and dough. When it comes to treating various illnesses and overcoming weakness, barley offers numerous health advantages.

Dates



Dates, often eaten during Ramadan, are praised for their vitamins, minerals, and fiber content. As Prophet Muhammad says, “He who eats seven ‘Ajwa dates every morning will not be affected by poison or magic on the day he eats them.” [Bukhari]



Honey



Honey, known for its versatility, is lauded as both a food and a remedy in the blog post. It is linked to improved digestion, wound healing, and skin health. Another saying attributed to the Prophet Muhammad highlights its significance: “”Honey is a remedy for every illness and the Quran is a remedy for all illness of the mind; therefore, I recommend to you both remedies, the Quran and honey.“ [Bukhari]



Olives



Vitamin E and other potent antioxidants are abundant in olives. According to a National Institutes of Health study, they may prevent cancer and osteoporosis and are beneficial for the heart. Among the foods listed in the Quran, the olive tree and its fruit are referenced in multiple verses. The Prophet SAW said , "Eat olive and use its oil, for indeed it is a blessed tree.
