Age when people are most likely to cheat

Would you believe us if we tell you there is an age when most men and women are more likely to cheat and it's different for both the gender? Well, according to a recent analysis by Ashley Madison, a dating website for married people, there are actually age ranges when men and women cheat.

2/6

Men versus women

According to their data, men typically sign up for the website when they are 36 and women do when they are 33. The biggest reason behind them joining the site is expectations that remain unmet in their existing relationship.

Psychologist speaks...

According to a psychologist, most people head to their website because of unhappy relationships but there are some who visit to break boredom and feel excited. "In most relationships, once the honeymoon period is over, the reality sets in. It becomes more about the overall family unit than the actually intimacy between the two partners. It can get overbearing for some," shared Anuja, a marriage counselor.

4/6

Second most common age group

The survey also found out that many people first cheated in the age group of 19 to 29. That is the stage when they are still exploring relationships and their disappointment.

5/6

Third most common age group

The third age group that reported most affairs was 40 to 49, the common reason being the stress they experience in their marriage. Some people miss their earlier life when there were no children and mounting responsibilities, and having an affair helps them temporarily forget the struggles in their personal life.

6/6

In reality...

While having an affair may seem like a great idea at the onset, what most couples forget is that having an affair for excitement or for dealing with frustration in the current relationship is not the idea way to deal with the crisis. Couples should instead consider marriage counseling to resolve issues, as affairs can get ugly, with no point of return.
