Forrest Galante, the celebrated American adventurer and wildlife expert, recently visited Vantara, the world’s largest wildlife rehabilitation and rescue sanctuary, founded by Anant Ambani. Located in the lush greenery of Jamnagar, the sanctuary left Forrest in awe of its unparalleled commitment towards animal welfare. The YouTuber encountered many endangered species and was ecstatic to see animals treated with love and care. Galante, known for his relentless efforts to spotlight biodiversity and conservation through his television series and expeditions, marvelled at Vantara’s scale and impact in a series of videos on his social media.
This Billionaire is Creating the World’s Best Animal Sanctuary
From elephants relaxing in jacuzzis to crocodiles lazying in the sun at the Vantara crocodile rescue centre, Forrest witnessed the magnanimous animal centres and facilities at Vantara. He was all praises for Anant Ambani and his efforts for rescuing animals from all over the world and providing them a safe haven at Jamnagar.
“No more torture devices”In an emotional video, Gallante showed a herd of elephants throwing away their torture devices. “Imagine being chained up in these torture devices 22 hours a day! Never again will these horrible, tortured devices be a part of their lives here in Vantara. They know, they have come to freedom here in Vantara”, Forrest was seen exclaiming.

Forrest was happiest when he encountered the endangered Okapi. Okapis are known to be the animal kingdom's exclusive folivores. They rely heavily on plant fibres for their nutrition, and caretakers at Vantara ensure that their natural diet is replicated with abundant fresh leaves supplemented by essential vitamins and minerals. Given their voracious appetite, they are regularly weighed on a walk-on scale and monitored by Vantara biologists to maintain optimal body condition scores, improving their health.

Elephants at Vantara are scrubbed and given a cosy bath daily by their caretakers and mahouts. Forrest reported how the elephants at Vantara were pampered with hot water massage and exclusive manicure pedicure sessions. “The baths and massages help to create a special bond between the mahout and the elephant”, he noted.

Forrest was in seventh heaven when he saw the elephants enjoying the world’s first temperature-controlled jacuzzi. The jacuzzi has water jets at three levels. Forrest hugged the caretaker because he was happy to see the rescued elephants enjoying the life they should be living.
“What Anant Ambani and his team have achieved here is truly remarkable. Vantara isn’t just a sanctuary—it’s a movement toward a better, sustainable future for our wildlife,” Galante remarked in one of his posts, lauding the ambitious vision behind the sanctuary. As an influential voice in global conservation, Galante’s endorsement brings renewed attention to Vantara’s mission.
