The edible gold food trend!

This is not for the first time that edible gold has been introduced in the Indian market. Before this, dishes like gold-plated Chole Bhature and Dosa had been in trend on the internet and Indian foodies have been gaga over it. If we look back, use of gold leaf and silver leaf had been a part of royalty dining experiences, where emperors and kings used to eat food topped with silver and gold warq. And if we go by the experts, all this had health benefits as well. Keeping the tradition alive, the market players are adding wao element to it. A new addition to the trend is the concept of 24-carat gold-plated ice cream that is now available at Huber & Holly, an ice-cream parlour in Mumbai.

The gold-plated ice cream

Taking to Instagram, the company has recently posted a picture of their gold-plated ice cream and captioned the food saying, “All that glitters may not always be gold, but in this case, it’s tough to argue otherwise. The Mighty Midas is made up of 17 incredible elements and is topped with real 24k gold foil. It is now available at #HuberandHolly in #Juhu as well. Get your gold fix today!”

Where to get it and what all it contains?

It is easily available at Huber and Holly, an ice-cream parlour that has outlets in three cities including Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. According to agencies, this Mighty Midas ice cream is made with 17 ingredients that include a waffle cone that is filled with caramelised almonds, brownie, nutty praline, hazelnut balls, fudge, Belgian chocolate ice-cream, golden chocolate ice-cream topped with 24K gold foil flakes, pipette filled with passion fruit juice, and much more!

Celebrity connect

As the social media was flooded with this gold-plated ice cream option, this reminded us of last year when Bollywood celebrity Shilpa Shetty Kundra had made news for trying out a gold-plated softy served in Hong Kong. She had posted a video of herself trying out the exotic dessert on her official Instagram page.

What’s the price?

If we go by the social media content out there, this dreamy ice cream is worth Rs 1000. Are you tempted enough to put this pressure on your pocket?
