"She walked away with tears in her eyes": When Deepika Padukone received homemade Puran Poli from a mother
Homemade food has a different aroma and essence connected to it. If it is made by a mother, the emotional connection to the dish is unparalleled. When Bollywood star Deepika Padukone received homemade Puran Poli from a mother, her act of acceptance left the mother in tears of joy. Scroll down to see what exactly happened.
This all happened in the month of January 2026, when actress Deepika Padukone hosted a meet and greet event to celebrate her birthday with her fans and well-wishers. During the gala event, the actress also cut a brown three-tier cake and posed with the attendees. While all the influencers and content creators shared their moments of joy and happiness, one moment that took the internet by storm was shared by the handle @zadmayur. Wondering why? It wasn't about him, but about the moment of joy his mother felt and Deepika's gesture that made her cry with happiness.
Taking to social media, the fan opened up about Deepika's gesture while meeting his mother. According to him, she warmly held his mother's hand and invited her to sit beside her. In a reel post with over 3 million views, expressing his gratitude to Deepika he said, "This time, I took my mom along with me. Staying with me, she also slowly became a fan of Deepika. When I told her that we were going to meet Deepika, she said, "Chal, khota bolu nakos” (Don’t lie), “Evdhya vela bhetalas, mala kadhi nahi nelas" (You met her so many times, but never took me along). But when she actually met Deepika, she was completely stunned."
He also opened up about his mother being in tears when she held the actress' hand. Deepika also thanked his mother for the special gift, which was special handmade Puran Poli. "She walked away with tears in her eyes — and honestly, every fan can relate to that moment, the emotions we go through after meeting a diva like her," the fan further added.
Well, for Deepika this might have been one of the many fan moments where she received a handmade gesture. But what she did surely teaches us the lesson of gratitude: the ability to recognize and value the effort, time, or thought someone has invested in us. By accepting the tiffin, she also reflected humility, showing that we can receive kindness as gracefully as we give it. These acts nurture emotional connection, build trust, and create a culture of appreciation in everyday life.
Also, over time, such habits make us more mindful, empathetic, and aware of the people around us, strengthening both personal bonds and social harmony. This also makes us understand the value of small gestures how they can make everyday even more beautiful. It also teaches that to show love and affection, you don't need to make a fancy meal, even the simplest of homemade dishes can make a big difference. Such gestures also reflect a lot on an individual's upbringing and what moral values he/she carries along with the stardom. It is also said that such gestures strengthen the faith in humanity and generosity, which often fades away with time. According to experts, such behaviour is also very much dependent on the upbringing, and when it comes Deepika, she has been brought up in a family where sportsmanship and leadership is quite evident, hence such behaviour is not very surprising. It is also said that such behaviour speak a lot about the person's personal perspective and attitude towards others. How often do you show gratitude to people around you? Share your thoughts with us.
