The most ordered dish of 2022 is...

Yet another year has gone by and we are looking forward to setting some new goals in this New Year. But, the year 2022 was no less when it came to set to goals and some people literally broke records for ordering from outside. From ordering the most number of cakes (1,098), and spending over 28 lakhs on food orders to the highest valued order and the nation’s biggest foodie, here are some of the revelations that were made in the annual trends reports of online food delivery platforms Swiggy and Zomato. And the award for most ordered food goes to…

Just like last year, Biryani remained the top choice for Indians. While Swiggy reported that nearly 137 orders were placed for Biryani every minute on its app; 186 Biryani orders were delivered every minute from Zomato. On New Year’s eve itself, Zomato received orders for 16,514 biryani throughout the country.

Pizza for New Year party

According to the Swiggy stats, 2.5 lakh pizzas across the country were sold across the country on New Year’s eve. The Zomato reported, they received a lavish order of pizzas where the order cost about INR 25,000.

The cake man

There was a man named ‘Rahul’, who ordered about 1,098 cakes through the Zomato app.

Biggest foodie of the year

The award for biggest foodie of the year goes to a Pune resident, who ordered food worth over Rs 28 lakh on Zomato.

Nation’s biggest foodie

Ankur, who is a Delhi resident was identified by Zomato as the “nation’s biggest foodie” as he placed 3,330 orders over a period of 365 days with an average of nine orders per day.

The biggest orders of the year

Apart from the large pizza order, Swiggy revealed that the largest order it received was worth INR 75,378 from a Bangalore resident followed by a Pune resident who ordered burgers and fries worth INR 71,229 for his team members.
