How to stay hydrated during Ramadan?

The holy month of Ramadan is here and Muslims all over the world celebrate the holy month by fasting. The fasting begins at sunrise after suhoor/sehri and then they break the fast after sunset with iftar, and this lasts for 30 days. This year Ramadan begins on April 2and will end on May 2.Those who observe fasting are not allowed to eat, drink or smoke. It is believed that the reason for not drinking water is that it is just one of the many gifts we take for granted in life. As per experts, while the sehri includes traditional food items, it is always good to consume foods that can help you stay hydrated for a longer time. ​Watermelon

The rising mercury might leave you dehydrated during lost fasting hours, hence it is important to consume fruits rich in water content to stay hydrated. This light clear drink is composed of 94 percent water content. It not only keeps you hydrated, it also helps prevent kidney stones.

​Less salty food

Excessive intake of salt results in sweating and further leads to dehydration. Hence to keep the body calm and control water loss, it is suggested to avoid excessive salt intake during Ramadan fast.
