Ram Navami 2024: Ayodhya Ram Mandir to receive 1,11,111 kgs laddoos as prasad
With the commencement of Navratri 2024, we all look forward to completing the puja with Kanya Pujan (also known as Kanjak) that is celebrated on Durga Ashtami and Ram Navami. In Hinduism, Ram Navami is considered one of the most important days, as it marks the birth of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Celebrated on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, it symbolises the victory of good over evil and righteousness over injustice. Devotees observe fasts, offer prayers, and recite sacred texts to honour Lord Rama's virtues and seek his blessings for strength, courage, and spiritual enlightenment during Navratri. It serves as a reminder of the divine presence and inspires individuals to follow the path of righteousness and uphold dharma (righteousness) in their lives.
This year, Ram Navami is going to be extra special, as we have all seen the consecration ceremony of the auspicious Ayodhya Ram Mandir in January. Since its opening, Ayodhya has been thronged by devotees eager to catch a glimpse of Ram Lalla, sculpted by Arun Yogiraj. This year, there will be a grand celebration in Ayodhya Ram Mandir as it will receive an offering of 1,11,111 kilograms of laddoo prasad by the Devraha Hans Baba Trust.
On April 17, in honour of Ram Navami, 1,11,111 kg laddoos will be sent to the Ram temple in Ayodhya as prasad. Atul Kumar Saxena, the trustee of the Devraha Hans Baba Trust, confirmed the offering, stating that it's customary for their trust to send laddoo prasad to various temples, including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Tirupati Balaji Temple. This tradition extends back to January 22, when the trust sent 40,000 kg of laddoo for the Pran Pratistha in Ayodhya.
In preparation for Chaitra Navratri through Ram Navami, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has adorned the Ram Lalla idol with special hand-woven khadi cotton clothes. These garments, adorned with real silver and gold khaddi hand block prints, are inspired by Vaishnav Chinha. The trust has shared a video showcasing the intricate decorations on Lord Ram's attire.
Ram Navami marks the birth of Lord Rama, celebrated as the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This year's celebration at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, where Ram Lalla resides, holds special significance, coinciding with the conclusion of the Chaitra Navratri dedicated to Goddess Durga.
