2/5

Bitter gourd juice

Take 4 medium size karela (bitter gourd), peel the skin using a knife and cut it from the centre, remove the seeds and cut into small pieces. Put it in a blender and add ½ cup water. Blend it till it turns smooth. Strain in a serving glass, add 1 tsp lemon juice and consume. This fresh juice will help regulate the blood sugar level in your body. According to studies, it has active substances like charantin, which is famous for its blood glucose-lowering effect. It also contains an insulin-like compound called Polypeptide-p or p-insulin which has been shown to control diabetes naturally.

3/5

Spinach Juice

Take 50 gms fresh spinach leaves, wash under running water and remove excess stem parts. Chop the leaves and put in a juice blender. Add ½ cup water and blend till smooth. Strain and serve with 1 tsp lemon juice. It is meant to be consumed as the first drink in the morning and is a rich source of folate, dietary fibre, vitamins A, B, C, E and K. According to experts, fibre delays digestion, which further ensures that the sugar is not metabolised quickly and causes a surge in blood sugar levels and thus works as bliss for diabetic people.

4/5

Amla juice

Take 3-4 medium-size amla, wash, de-seed and cut into small cubes. Put it in a blender along with 1 cup water and blend to a smooth drink. Add 1/2 tsp pepper powder, a pinch of salt and serve fresh. According to Ayurveda, amla is a traditional remedy to control high blood sugar levels. It is rich in a mineral called chromium which regulates carbohydrate metabolism and also helps in making the body more responsive to insulin.

5/5

Aloe vera juice

Take fresh two aloe vera leaves, wash them under running water and pat dry with a clean cloth. Cut both the sides and scrape off the white gel in a bowl. Store the clear gel in a dry jar and add 2 tsp of it to a glass of water, stir well and drink. According to a research, consuming aloe vera as an oral supplement on a regular basis can significantly reduce the level of glucose in the blood, as well as lower HbA1c (1.05%), or glycated hemoglobin.
