Love train ki chai? Watch horrifying video of tea vendor filling water from toilet
For Indians, travelling by train is not just about reaching a destination; it is a journey full of memories. From trai ki chai to train wali jhal muri, there is so much to relish and recall in the long run. But what if you get to know that the same food is going to cause severe illness? Well, it is true, because a recent viral video has once again put a question mark on the hygiene of food and drinks we enjoy outside the comfort of home. Scroll down to read the details.
As per a viral video shared on Instagram by Jist News, a man is seen washing the steel tea container with jet spray inside a train toilet. Take a look at the video.
In the video, he can be seen spraying the jet water in the used container, which he stirs and then drains in the pot. The caption of the video reads, "An undated video has been circulating online, showing a man washing tea containers with jet spray inside a train toilet. The footage has triggered widespread outrage on social media, with many expressing concern over hygiene and food safety practices in Indian railways."
While the source of the video is not revealed, the practice has surely raised concerns over the hygiene of popular beverages like chai being served in trains.
As per experts, the water tanks of Indian coaches are refilled at various railway stations, and that water is generally supplied via municipal corporations. It is said that those water supplies are not fit for human consumption directly, and the drinking water supply is done via a different pipeline. As per health experts, consumption of such unkempt water can cause major side effects. Take a look at the side effects of consuming such water.
Waterborne diseases: Consumption of unhygienic water can lead to illnesses like diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, and dysentery caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites.
Stomach and digestive issues: It is also said that contaminants found in such water may irritate the stomach lining, causing nausea, cramps, and vomiting.
Long-term health risks: Prolonged exposure to contaminated water can result in kidney damage, liver infections, or developmental issues due to toxins like lead or arsenic.
Dehydration and fatigue: It is also said that unhygienic water may cause frequent diarrhea, leading to severe dehydration and exhaustion.
