“It is highly pranic...” Sadhguru shares the best and quickest breakfast one should have regularly
Sadhguru often talks about sustainable ways of living and eating habits. In a recent reel on Instagram, he shared the quickest breakfast recipe, which is made with just one single food item. In the video, he says, "One of the best morning breakfasts you can have is soaked groundnut. It is highly pranic." Scroll down to read the detailed recipe and its benefits.
According to Sadhguru, if you drink one large glass of groundnut milkshake, it's a complete diet and can easily keep you full for 4-5 hours. It's a good breakfast and it takes care of all your calcium requirements also. As per his post on the Isha Foundation website, whole grains, lentils and nuts are an excellent alternative to milk for getting the daily dietary requirement of calcium. For example: Groundnuts. These are a complete diet by themselves. In India, many yogis go on a 100% groundnut diet because it is a complete food by itself, if it is eaten raw, he states. Explaining the right way of eating groundnuts, he states that they must be soaked for a minimum of six hours in water, which takes away certain aspects that in Ayurveda are called Pitta. If you eat groundnuts without soaking them, it tends to cause rashes and nausea, he warns.
Ingredients: A handful of peanuts, 1 banana and 1/2 cup of water
Method: Soak it overnight or for a minimum of 6 hours. Next morning, you can eat it as it is, or blend it with a fruit like banana and some water. One glass of this peanut shake will keep you full for 4-5 hours.
According to a study titled Effects of Peanut Consumption on Cardiovascular Risk Factors, peanuts provide high levels of essential minerals such as magnesium (supporting bone, cardiovascular, and nerve health), copper, manganese, iron, and potassium, contributing to overall well-being. And the study titled Peanuts as functional food: a review, states that peanuts are an excellent source of compounds like resveratrol, phenolic acids, flavonoids and phytosterols that block the absorption of cholesterol from the diet. It is also a good source of Coenzyme Q10 and contains all 20 amino acids with the highest amount of arginine. These bioactive compounds have been recognized for having disease-preventive properties and are thought to promote longevity. The processing methods like roasting and boiling have shown an increase in the concentration of these bioactive compounds.
